Heesen launches 55m Project Serena
This is the seventh hull in the 55 Steel series with a slightly different design.
The 55 metre superyacht Serena has been launched at the Heesen shipyard in Oss, the Netherlands. She is the seventh in the 55-metre Steel series and the second with a restyled exterior. The yard has shared photos of the yacht from the christening, but they do not show the whole yacht yet, only the details. The yacht was last photographed in May 2023 during the ‘marriage’ of the hull and the superstructure.
Project Serena started as an on-spec build and was sold to her current owner in 2022. She is slightly different from her sisterships Vida and Moskito. The changes include the removal of some bulkheads in the saloon and lounge, as well as a concealed crew passage onto the sundeck and a square Jacuzzi. The restyling of the exterior was done by Omega Architects studio.
Other design changes include a more aggressive profile created with solid sheets of tinted glass and a French balcony in the owner's stateroom. The new take on the 55 Steel also features more exterior deck space.
Luca Dini is responsible for the yacht's interiors. The owner's cabin is located on the main deck, a spacious VIP cabin is located on the bridge deck and four guest cabins occupy the lower deck. The interior features velvet trim, smoky eucalyptus and amazonite marble inlays.
The main salon has a bar with a bronze finish. Another bar is located in the sky lounge, which also features a game table. The highlight of the interior is the atrium, which features handmade blown glass and metal light fittings by American designer John Pomp.
Serena is scheduled to be delivered to her owner in the last quarter of 2024.
